Battle of the Bards VI

ANNOUNCEMENT: Pre-sale tickets for both performances have sold out. There will be a very limited number of tickets (~10) available at the door on a first come first serve basis. These tickets will go on sale at 6:30 pm both nights and will be available for night of purchase only. Ticket purchasers should arrive no later than 7:55pm to ensure that their ticket is not released back to the general public.

A ticket to either night or a $1 donation will allow you entrance to Saturday night’s party, which will begin shortly after 10:00pm! Thank you!

In BATTLE OF THE BARDS VI, three ensembles compete for a spot in Ghost Light’s 2012-13 Season. Each ensemble has 20 minutes to perform a scene from a new adaptation of a classic work and the audience chooses the winner! Admission includes one vote – additional votes are only $1 each. All proceeds support the work of Ghost Light Theatricals.

The cast, crew, and audience will celebrate right after the Saturday performance with drinking, dancing, and voting! At midnight, Ghost Light will announce the winning show and the rest of our 2012-2013 season. A ticket to either performance of BARDS VI or a $1 donation is admission into the party.

Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are only $10 and include one vote.

When can I start voting?
You can start voting today! Each show has a button on our Bards page that takes you directly to PayPal. Online voting will end at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 28.

I’m coming on Friday, can I still go to the party on Saturday?
Yes! A ticket to either performance or a donation is admission into the party.

Should I get tickets ahead of time?
Yes, we have turned people away every year, so get your tickets online! Even if you get turned away, you’re welcome to come back for the party.

Can I buy tickets at the door with a credit card?
No, our box office and bar are cash only. There are a few ATMs around the block if you forget.

Can I vote with a credit card at the party?
Yes, we’ll have a voting station setup for those who want to vote with credit cards.

My Great Aunt Mavis lives in Lake Titicaca and can’t make it to the show. Can she still vote?
Yes! Anyone can vote for any show even if they haven’t seen it.

What happens to the shows that don’t win?
In order to compete in Battle of the Bards, the shows that don’t win cannot be produced anywhere for a year.

Who won last year?
FREAK STORM! It is our next mainstage show and will be directed by Lisa Anne Glomb!

Do all votes have to be $1?

No, you can buy as many votes as you want to in any amount that you want!
