Join us as our ninth season kicks off with a not-so-healthy desire for revenge! After the death of his lover and his father, Victor seeks revenge on Duke Jones and his despicable family, but he’s not the only one! VENGEANCE AT SUNDOWN is a 1950’s B-Movie adaptation of the Jacobean play, The Revenger’s Tragedy written by Ben Newton and David van Wert and directed by Ghost Light Theatricals’ Founding Artistic Director Beth Raas-Bergquist. Adult themes: Campy 1950's violence, gore, and sexual innuendo. Recommended for ages 10 and older.

HEDDA

HEDDA is a remix of Henrik Ibsen’s classic, Hedda Gabler, highlighting Hedda’s struggle using self destructive female archetypes in literature and history (such as Lady MacBeth, Ophelia and Janis Joplin). Inspired by Chuck Mee’s use of found text and by the Viewpoints and Suzuki methods, Nikki Przasnyski originally conceived, adapted and directed HEDDA in the spring of 2003 as the culmination of a research grant at the University of Washington. Nikki will again be re-conceiving and adapting her script for performance the first three weekends of November 2011.

In BATTLE OF THE BARDS VI, three ensembles have 20 minutes each to perform scenes of adaptations of classic works. The audience votes which play should be produced in full in Ghost Light’s 2012-13 Season. Admission includes one vote - additional votes are only $1 each. All proceeds support the work of Ghost Light Theatricals.

The cast, crew, and audience will celebrate right after the Saturday performance with drinking, dancing, and voting! At midnight, Ghost Light will announce the winning show and the rest of our 2012-2013 season. A ticket to either performance of BARDS VI or a donation is admission into the party.

FREAK STORM

Ghost Light Theatricals presents the WINNER of Battle of the Bards V: FREAK STORM, a comic adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” written by Don Fleming and directed by Lisa Anne Glomb. Dr. Benedict Karybduff, a powerful and corrupt scientist, returns to the Cascade Mountains to investigate the causes of the disruptions in his research on using volcanoes as an energy source. A mysterious figure awaits him in a secret base, ready to wreak revenge on her enemies and usher in a new, environmentally sensitive and sustainable age.

From Tony Award nominated Playwright, Stephen Adly Guirgis, THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT examines the concepts of betrayal, regret, destiny and forgiveness through exploration of the choices and life of Christianity's public enemy number one. In this reality bending courtroom drama, the fate of the notorious Judas Iscariot is at stake as both prosecution and defense attorneys call to the stand history and the bible's greatest characters (Mother Theresa, Satan, Sigmund Freud, Simon the Zealot) to explore head on the conflict between divine mercy and human free will.
